Diversity and inclusion statement

We value your participation in Eventprofs Connect. Our conference is all about fun—but we take diversity and inclusion seriously. Our community is based on mutual respect, tolerance, and encouragement. We want our community to be increasingly diverse: whoever you are, and whatever your background, we welcome you.

Our organization team is made up of diverse people. Our aim is to see that diversity reflected in all other participants: attendees, sponsors, speakers, volunteers and service providers.

We explicitly honor diversity in age, culture, ethnicity, genotype, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, neurotype, phenotype, political beliefs, profession, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, subculture and technical ability.

Code of conduct

Standards of behavior in the Eventprofs Connect community are detailed in this code of conduct.

Harassment-free environment

Eventprofs Connect is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference venue.

What counts as harassment?

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments, written communication and gestures related to a person’s gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, neurotype, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices. Also, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention are all forms of harassment.

Sponsors are also subject to the code of conduct. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

Reporting

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please take any of the following steps:

  • Notify a member of conference staff on site immediately. Conference staff can be identified by branded clothing or badges.
  • Text or call (number to be provided closer to event date)
  • Send an email to [email protected]
  • Send a DM to the conference organizers @EventprofsConf

Conference staff will be happy to help participants to contact venue security or local law enforcement or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.

Sanctions

Conference participants who violate this code may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
